Alternative Currencies
People often have a lot of resources but they are not directly exchangeable in the form of money. Many people might own cattle, land, tradable skills, or maintain a high level of social capital but these “alternative currencies” are difficult to manage and leverage for people to get credit, the services they need, or to exchange them into payments for startup capital, health care bills, education fees, etc.
The Big Question
What sorts of systems or services would allow people to share or exchange different forms of capital or value within communities?
